Sharing the Spirit of Vesak: GHR’s Grand Rice Dansala

As part of its ongoing commitment to community upliftment, GHR hosted a Grand Rice Dansala on May 14th, 2025, at the Buddha Rashmi Vesak Zone near Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo. The event was a highlight of the Vesak celebration, reflecting GHR’s values of compassion, unity, and giving.

Organized in collaboration with the Gangaramaya Temple, the Presidential Secretariat, and the Prime Minister’s Office, the Buddha Rashmi Vesak Zone attracted thousands of visitors from across the country. GHR’s rice dansala served over 20,000 freshly prepared meals throughout the evening, offering a heartfelt gesture of generosity during this sacred time.

With blessings from Venerable Kirinde Assaji Thero and the presence of GHR Chairman Mr. Dasun Wickramarathna, along with other religious and community leaders, the atmosphere was filled with joy, reverence, and togetherness. Guests expressed deep appreciation for the hospitality and kindness shown, sharing stories of gratitude and warmth.

Supported by the Sri Lanka Army and Police, the event ran smoothly and safely, allowing all attendees to enjoy the celebration in comfort. For GHR, this initiative was a meaningful way to give back and strengthen its connection with the community, continuing its mission to uplift lives through sincere and impactful CSR efforts.
